The development in design from Mitsubishi is clearly seen in the new high-performance model, especially the font view: the large, distinctive radiator grill, inspired by the air input in contemporary fighter jets, is very dominant. The new Lancer Evolution shows the next step in its evolution: a sportive, black, jet fighter” radiator grill and a logo which takes over the central role in this distinctive frontal design. The high end, sportive interior allows for simple and functional configuration, complete concentration for driving. Colours, materials and lighting were all specially designed to create the racing sport feeling.
New 2.0 liter 4B11 all-aluminum turbo engine with steering wheel switching paddles
A newly developed 4B11 all-aluminum turbo engine 2,0 Liter DOHC MIVEC Benzin Turbo-/
Intercoolermotor mit 295 HP combines with a 6-gear double clutch gear TC-SST
(Sports Shift Transmission) and steering wheel switching paddles. The torque curve is for optimum performance and handling in all areas.
Neu: Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC)
Besides all of that the new Lancer Evolution-Model has the totally newly developed Super All Wheel Control System (S-AWC) from Mitsubishi. For the ultimate driving control all relevant systems are combined with the 4WD-System – another step from Mitsubishi in an area where the Lancer Evolution series has already set standards. Based on the electronic driven “Super –All Wheel Control”, the S-AWC-System, the ACD, the Super AYC and ASTC as well as the new sports ABS-System are all part of it.
The new Lancer Evolution distinguishes the tradition of a 35-year old racing sport history from ´73er LANCER 1600 GSR (East African Safari Rally) all the way to the ´80er Lancer EX 2000 TURBO (1.000 Seen Rally) to the extremely successful Lancer Evolution Generation:
